McPherson College seeks a collaborative, innovative leader for the position of Executive Director of Health Care Initiatives. The health care initiatives currently includes bachelor’s degree programs in Health Science and Healthcare Management and includes community outreach and career discernment as prominent features. The successful applicant will lead the development and administration of enhanced health care curricula and programming, instruct and advise undergraduate health science and healthcare management students, and participate fully as a member of the McPherson College faculty and department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. This individual will supervise students in classrooms, labs, and field placements. Faculty rank is negotiable at the time of hire.
The desired candidate will possess a doctoral degree in health administration, policy and management, public health, or related fields and three-plus years of experience in the health or healthcare professions. Applicants with a master’s degree in healthcare administration, health services administration, or public health can also be considered. Knowledge of statistical software and electronic medical records systems is advantageous, as is teaching experience. The candidate must possess the professional presence and enthusiasm to nurture partnerships with local health care professionals and organizations and to serve as the public face and principal promoter of McPherson College’s evolving health care initiatives.
The Executive Director of Health Care Initiatives position reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and is eligible for full college benefits. The faculty position is a 12-month, three-year renewable appointment.
