McPherson College seeks candidates for the position of Library Director. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, 11-month position (July 15 – June 15).
The Library Director administers every aspect of Miller Library’s collections, archives, resources, staffing, budget, and information services. In addition, the Library Director collaborates with faculty to develop and deliver information literacy programming. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, creative, progressive, committed to outstanding information services in the higher education setting, and disposed to professional, congenial interaction with students and other members of the campus community on a daily basis. The Library Director works to maintain and enhance Miller Library’s position as the academic hub of the campus where students, staff, faculty, and community members collaborate and interact in dynamic ways.
Experience: Two to three years’ academic library and administrative/supervisory experience
Education: Master of Library Science required
Interpersonal Skills: Great written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are essential. The ability to multi-task and organize a wide range of projects. Excellent customer service skills are a must.
Other Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, library catalogs, and periodical databases is required. Experience in creating digital resources is helpful.
Attendance: Some alternate scheduling will occur to include evenings and weekends, July 15–June 15.
