McPherson College seeks dynamic and innovative candidates for the position of Operations Manager and Student Advocate. This is a full-time, 12-month, college benefits eligible, hourly position that reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students. As part of the benefits package, apartment housing is offered.
The specialist will be expected to be a very motivated, creative, organized, and engaged member of the Student Affairs team. S/he will oversee the day-to-day management of the Student Affairs office. S/he will greet guests visiting the Student Affairs office and assist students, faculty, staff, and guests in a variety of capacities. S/he will establish and maintain organized files and records and gather, enter, and update data to maintain records, files, and databases. S/he will provide administrative support to the Dean of Students and will manage the campus store which includes the distribution of campus mail, managing staff and the day to day activities of the campus store.
This position serves on the Student Affairs’ rotating on-call responsibilities as assigned.
Minimal qualifications include proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Outlook email. In addition, the successful candidate will be courteous and professional with their customer service skills and will have exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Additionally the ability to navigate institutional technology is expected.
A bachelor’s degree is required.
Experience in administrative work is required; experience in student affairs work is preferred but not required.
