McPherson College seeks dynamic and innovative candidates for the position of Resident Director.
This position is a live-in, 10-month position (mid-July – mid-May). This is a temporary, seasonal position and does have a rotating on-call requirement. This position includes on campus housing, cell phone allowance and a meal plan and will report to the assistant dean of student/director of residence life. This position is not benefits eligible. The resident director could expect to work up to 15 hours per week.
The Resident Director acts as a primary administrator of hall activity in a residential unit. It is a live-in position. The Resident Director is responsible for providing information, ensuring safety, and promoting a positive college experience to students. This position also has a collateral assignment focused on wellbeing, such as intramurals, fitness center oversight, or proactive wellness programming. This individual also advances the mission of the Division of Student Affairs as well as the College in a variety of other functions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in required (Education or Social Work preferred); Master’s preferred. Two to three years’ experience in student services/residential life preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has direct supervisory responsibility for the Resident Assistants in the assigned area.
Compensation:
Remuneration includes a monthly salary, cell phone allowance, on campus housing and a meal plan.
Attendance:
Basic workdays are Monday through Friday, outside of the traditional work day hours of 8am to 5pm. Hours can be in the evenings and/weekends on a rotating basis. This position participates in an on-call rotation and is considered an essential position for snow days, holiday and other days when the college may otherwise be closed.
