McPherson College is seeking to fill a full-time, tenure-track teaching position in its Curriculum and Instruction Department. This position is eligible for the college’s full employee benefits package, which includes a generous contribution by the college to its retirement plan after 1 year of service.

Located in Central Kansas with convenient access to Wichita, Manhattan, Lawrence and Kansas City, McPherson is an up-and-coming community that provides endless possibilities locally and in the immediate region. The college has set an ambitious vision through its Community by Design 2.0 strategic plan and has recently announced the formation of the Ward-Burkholder endowment of $1.5 Billion in estate gift commitments.

The individual will teach a variety of general and specific methods courses and supervise student teachers. The teaching emphasis will include a variety of elementary methods courses including reading and language arts and the science of reading.

Qualifications include: Applicants must have a master’s degree (doctorate preferred) and at least 3-5 years of K-6 teaching experience in the public school setting. The following factors will be given additional consideration: experience teaching in diverse situations, knowledge of accreditation, supervisory experience, knowledge of program development, and student recruitment/retention.

Compensation is dependent upon academic credentials and higher education experience.
