McPherson College seeks an enthusiastic student-centered professor to join the Art & Design Department for the 2024-25 academic year as an Assistant Professor of Digital Media. This is a full-time, tenure-track position, which is eligible for a rich college benefits package.
The successful candidate will assume responsibility for providing 24 credit hours of undergraduate instruction in Digital Media classes per academic year. The person in this appointment will primarily teach motion graphics, animation, video editing, podcasting & web design with an emphasis in UX & UI. They will also maintain regular office hours, attend meetings, advise digital media majors, showcase student work in department promotion, assist in design competition preparation & travel, assist with recruiting, participate in the governance of the college, and perform other duties within the scope of this position as assigned.
A terminal M.F.A. or Ph.D. degree in Digital Design is preferred, however, candidates finalizing their terminal degrees will also be considered for this appointment. The ideal candidate is someone who is very well versed in Adobe software, and has expertise in motion graphics title sequences, 2D & 3D animation, film direction, videography and web design. High quality collegiate level teaching experience is preferred however industry creative professionals are also encouraged to apply.
