The Central Kansas League Art Festival is - hands down - the shortest art exhibition McPherson College hosts. On April 24, the college’s Friendship Hall exhibition space was a whirlwind of noisy activity as high school artists from all around Central Kansas converged and brought out their best work.

Grahm Mahanna, Hoxie, Kan.; Kenyatta Harden, McPherson, Kan.; and Isaac Levin, Dighton, Kan., are performing in the final show of the season - “God of Carnage” - for their senior project. Colleen Gustafson, ’06 and marketing and design specialist at the college, rounds out the four-person cast.
It will be performed at 7:30 p.m. April 19 and 20 in Brown Auditorium.

The most diverse university in the United States last week extended an invitation to the president of one of the most diverse colleges in the Midwest. McPherson College President Michael Schneider was named the Diversity Research Center’s Spring 2013 Visiting Scholar at Rutgers university in New Jersey.

The exhibit is a sampling of the huge variety of mediums and artistic concepts that students explore at MC. Among the mediums used: ceramic, computer graphic design, charcoal, watercolor, pencil, marker, metal jewelry, stone sculpture, and batik fabric.
