The Natural Sciences Department commits itself to developing whole persons through experiential problem solving and the systematic study of the natural world.
Students are prepared to meet the challenges of an ever-changing technological world, learn to contribute to the well being of humankind and society, and enter into a graduate or professional program or achieve specific employment opportunities in their chosen fields. |
Students interested in the Natural Sciences can choose from the following majors: Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Environmental Studies.
Several pre-professional programs, which prepare you for specialized training or advanced study beyond a bachelor’s degree, include engineering, forestry, medicine (osteopathy or dentistry), optometry/podiatry, pharmacy, physical therapy/physician assistant, and veterinary medicine. |
The internship program also plays an important role in preparing graduates for science-related careers. Students are involved in a variety of placements at hospitals, private practice settings, and in the pharmaceutical industry.
