I began my teaching career in 1980 and have served for fourteen years at private and public high schools. I recently reached twenty-eight years as an Associate Professor in the Education and/or Business Department because of my dual degree.

During my forty-two years of being an educator, I have wanted to encourage and challenge my classes not just to do their best, but to serve the Lord, as referenced in Colossians 3:23-24: to work with all your heart for the Lord. I am always thinking about the next creative project that will engage my students. As a college professor, I also believe a very important responsibility is to serve as an advisor and mentor, helping guide individuals toward their professional calling.

My background includes teaching at many levels, from community college to private liberal arts colleges and Universities, in Education and Business. Having grown up in the business world, I also enjoy being an entrepreneur as the owner of Cedar Ridge Ranch, which provides summer Christian horsemanship camps, riding lessons, and an Airbnb barndominium. It has allowed me to apply the business and education concepts I am passionate about.

At this stage in my career, I have considered Moses in Exodus 3, who spent forty years tending sheep. The Bible says he led his flock to the “backside of the desert.” Then, standing before him was Mt. Sinai. It would have been easy to stop, settle in, and conclude that he was done, but God still had plans for Moses, just as He has plans for all of us.
