The McPherson College Theatre Department announces its 2026-27 season, highlighting shows that focus on community.

A musical adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “As You Like It” will open the season on Oct. 2-3. The production will draw from the McPherson College community, with participation from the McPherson Community Theatre, area schools, and the college’s choir and musical theatre alumni. The adaptation mixes folk, pop, country, and ‘90s boy band songs in a celebration of community.

Other shows in this year’s lineup include

  • “Dr. Cook’s Garden,” by Ira Levin – Nov. 13-14
  • “What the Constitution Means to Me,” by Heidi Schreck – Jan. 29-30, 2027
  • “Drinking Habits,” by Tom Smith – March 5-6
  • “Dear Evan Hansen,” by Steven Levenson, music and lyrics by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul – April 23-24

McPherson College has presented live theatrical events on campus for more than 100 years. Additionally, its season ticket program, First Nighters, has a nearly 50-year tradition of offering themed meal experiences to members before each performance.
