McPherson College welcomes applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. This is a 10-month, part-time exempt position for the College. New graduates are encouraged to apply as this is an entry-level position.

The successful candidate will assist in the supervision, planning, and coordination of the assessment and treatment of injuries for all student-athletes of McPherson College.

The candidate will be responsible for providing proper medical coverage as directed by the Head Athletic Trainer. Coverage can, but may not be limited too, home events, away events and other camps or practices.

The candidate will assist the Head Athletic Trainer with insurance claims processing and proper medical documentation through maintaining quality medical records on McPherson College student-athletes. Furthermore, the candidate will assist in supervision of athletic training work-study students, as well as maintenance of inventory through regular inventory checkups. There may also be an opportunity to assist the team Orthopedics’ in their facility with intake, evaluation and care of patients and/or to be a part of the Student Services staff of McPherson College. The candidate may be responsible for teaching courses as directed by the Chair of the HPER Department, if deemed necessary.

The candidate will perform other duties as requested by the Head Athletic Trainer/ Director of Athletics.

This position is a live-in, 10-month position, beginning August, 2016 in an all-male residence hall. This is a part-time position and does have a rotating on-call requirement. This position is eligible for college benefits and will report to the associate dean of students.

A successful candidate must be a student-centered and assessment-driven individual, who is focused on developing the academic and personal success of all students. The Resident Director is charged with the responsibility of being the primary academic administrator for the resident hall and coordinator of intramurals. Duties will include but are not limited to the following: creating a positive and exciting residential living environment for undergraduate students and prioritizing the safety and health of those students, supervising resident assistants while maintaining compliance to the policies and practices of the college and student life, coordinating student and intramural programming including budgetary and financial oversight, and developing student leaders. The ideal candidate will exercise a high level of discretion and judgement in the day-to-day operation of the resident hall and its students. Finally, the ideal candidate embraces diversity and possesses strong problem solving skills.

McPherson College is seeking one assistant coach in each of the following sports – baseball, women’s basketball, men’s soccer, football (two openings), tennis and volleyball.
